Kami Swingle | Couple Photography | Koby and Jamie

Koby & Jamie

This past weekend my husband and I flew to Hot Springs Village, Arkansas to see my family for Thanksgiving. Not only were we excited to get inexpensive last minute airfare, but this was the first time, excluding our wedding, that my family has been together on a holiday in years. We had a truly wonderful visit and delectable vegan fare (my mom went beyond herself to create some of the best vegan food I’ve ever tasted).

Since my brother and his girlfriend Jamie were in town, we decided to venture out in the 60 degree weather for a photo shoot. I’ll bet you didn’t know Arkansas was this pretty! Of course photographing this couple was easy. Jamie is used to being in front of the camera. Check out her fashion blog at www.thefancyteacup.blogspot.com.

Engagment Photography | Kami Swingle | Northern Virginia | Oatlands Plantation

Nora & Taylor [Engagement Photography]

This past Sunday I had the privilege of shooting an engagement session on behalf of Enigma Productions (wedding photography company based out of Blacksburg, VA) at Oatlands Plantation in Leesburg, VA. With Saturday snowing and sustaining barely above freezing conditions I was slightly worried we’d have to reschedule our engagement session. However, Sunday rolled around, the snow melted, the temperature rose (to almost 60!), and the location was absolutely stunning. God couldn’t have blessed us with a more perfect evening. Congratulations to Nora and Taylor!

Casting for Recovery 2fly4hope [Fly Fishing Photography]

Nick and I volunteered to photograph the Casting 4 Recovery 2Fly4Hope event this past Sunday at Rose River Farm down in Syria, VA. The 2Fly4Hope Challenge had 12 teams of 2 anglers each. It was a 2-fly tournament, meaning each angler only got 2 flies for the entire day. One of the flies had to incorporate the color pink (for breast cancer awareness). The weather was phenomenal.  The turn out and sponsorship was great. The fishing action was steady. Not surprisingly, the people we met were even better than the fishing.  Mollie, Kiki, Rose River Farm and the team really put on a fantastic event.  We felt fortunate to be a part of such a meaningful cause.
