Great weather, great attendees, great bride and groom. What more can we say about Rob and Sara’s wedding? The ceremony and reception were held at Riverbend Country Club, just outside of Washington, D.C. on a fantastic autumn evening. We got an opportunity to use some external flash and lighting techniques with the bridal party and bridal portraits that were so much fun. Rob and Sara, thanks for trudging around the golf course at night with us. We love you both and not just because you are so photogenic… but it does make us love you a little bit more. Just kidding. Maybe.

Luke & Rebecca // Villanova Conference Center Wedding, Philadelphia, PA

On September 9^th, 2012, somewhere in between summer and fall, Luke and Rebecca were blessed with an incredibly beautiful day to join together in holy matrimony. We were lucky enough to photograph this great event, a particularly special day for us as friends of the bride and groom. After getting-ready photos, we captured a special “sneak peek” moment between Luke and Rebecca just before the ceremony. Afterwards, photos were taken of the bride and groom and their families and friends outside the Villanova Conference Center, the reception venue near Philadelphia, PA. Luke and Rebecca, thank you so much for being totally chill and such an incredibly gracious couple in allowing us to photograph your special day!

First of all, I cannot believe I’ve lived in DC for almost 9 years and have never been to the National Arboretum. I was so excited when Kathryn and Javier asked me to take their engagement photos there. What a cool place. If you didn’t know these columns are the former columns of the US Capitol (more information on that here). Definitely worth a stop.

Congrats to Kathryn and Javier! Can’t wait for your wedding in October.

This past weekend my husband and I flew to Hot Springs Village, Arkansas to see my family for Thanksgiving. Not only were we excited to get inexpensive last minute airfare, but this was the first time, excluding our wedding, that my family has been together on a holiday in years. We had a truly wonderful visit and delectable vegan fare (my mom went beyond herself to create some of the best vegan food I’ve ever tasted).

Since my brother and his girlfriend Jamie were in town, we decided to venture out in the 60 degree weather for a photo shoot. I’ll bet you didn’t know Arkansas was this pretty!
