Inauguration 2013
This year I decided to attend the Inauguration. 4 years ago I remember I was only 3 miles away from the Inauguration, but I decided to go to the gym instead. What was I thinking? Besides the fact that I dislike tourists — especially on days like the Inauguration. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen so many people together in one place. Also, an added perk of not having a ticket was the fact that I got to see Anderson Cooper. 🙂

Angels In Adoption Reception
Last September, Nick and I were asked to photograph a private reception at the home of Senator Mary Landrieu in honor of Angels In Adoption award recipients. The reception took place before the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute’s (CCAI) Angels In Adoption Gala, where Katherine Heigl, Josh Kelley and Ne-Yo were honored as National Angels In Adoption.

Liam Martin [Newborn]
This month my good friend Kristine and her husband welcomed their first child. We were so thrilled to take photographs for them (and meet the little guy!). Liam is truly blessed to have Wade and Kristine as parents. I’ve got to say, they made one cute kid! 🙂 Congratulations you two!
Ryan and Erin // Collingwood Library Wedding, Alexandria, VA
An outsider would never have guessed that Ryan and Erin were staring down the forecast of an impending hurricane on their wedding day. No bride we saw all year long was more expressive or lived her wedding day to the fullest quite like Erin. Sneak peek portraits were taken in Old Town Alexandria, just outside Washington, D.C. A beautiful ceremony was followed by some great dance sequences at the reception. Ryan and Erin, both of you inspire us with your faith, love and peace amidst the storm. Thank you so much for accommodating all of our requests and helping us to get some great photos of your wedding day. And thank God for that hurricane holding off until after the outdoor photos!

Kathryn & Javier’s Plantation Wedding // Oatlands Plantation, Leesburg, VA
With a storybook setting at the Oatlands Plantation just outside of Washington, D.C. near Leesburg, VA, we spent the day with Kathryn, Javier and their friends and family. We’re not sure we did justice to the incredible smiles on these two – Kathryn and Javier, you. are. awesome. Both of us photographers found ourselves smiling on the other side of the camera as we captured the infectious happiness between this bride and groom. With a great tent and timely heaters fighting off the autumn evening chill, this group kept the energy up and rocked out the dance floor all night. Great wedding K+J. Thank you for letting us be a part of it!

Rob and Sara // Riverbend Country Club Wedding, Great Falls, VA
Great weather, great attendees, great bride and groom. What more can we say about Rob and Sara’s wedding? The ceremony and reception were held at Riverbend Country Club, just outside of Washington, D.C. on a fantastic autumn evening. We got an opportunity to use some external flash and lighting techniques with the bridal party and bridal portraits that were so much fun. Rob and Sara, thanks for trudging around the golf course at night with us. We love you both and not just because you are so photogenic… but it does make us love you a little bit more. Just kidding. Maybe.

Andi & Mike // Beliveau Estate Wedding, Blacksburg, VA
Nick and I had a great time photographing Andi & Mike’s wedding at Beliveau Estate in Blacksburg, VA this past September for Enigma Productions. It was our first time at Beliveau Estate, even though we had been down to Blacksburg several times this year for weddings. Gorgeous venue, and an all around great wedding party. Congrats you two!
